Clinical Aromatherapy

Clinical aromatherapy is the controlled use of essential oils for specific outcomes that are measurable. Such effects can occur at a physical or psychological level. Essential oils are natural essences extracted through steam distillation or expression of aromatic plants. Each oil has its own unique aroma and its own therapeutic properties based on its chemical makeup.

There is a science and an art to clinical aromatherapy. Research has show it to help bring balance to physical, emotional, and psychological wellness goals. I use both Eastern and Western approaches to aromatherapy by choosing essential oils for their chemistry and known clinical outcomes (Western) as well as their energetic affinity for body systems (Eastern). With its roots in traditional practices, clinical aromatherapy is widely utilized in medical settings, including hospitals, clinics, and complementary therapy centers. Clinical aromatherapy can help with pain, nausea, general well-being, anxiety, depressed mood, SAD (seasonal affective disorder), stress, and insomnia. It has also been found to be beneficial for preoperative anxiety, oncology, palliative care, hospice, and end-of-life care.

Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.  It seeks to unify physiological, psychological and spiritual processes to enhance an individual’s innate healing process.

It is important to make informed choices when it comes to the products we use, especially when it involves our health and well-being. I do not use doTERRA, Young Living, or any MLM oils. I’ve done my research and carefully selected Nature’s Gift many years ago and continue to love their commitment to purity and transparency. As a woman-owned and operated aromatherapy supplier since 1995, they have established a reputation for providing high-quality essential oils. One of the key factors that sets Nature's Gift apart is their dedication to ensuring the purity of their oils. They provide purity tests (GC/MS reports),  which are comprehensive tests conducted by third-party laboratories that analyze the chemical composition of each oil batch. Additionally, the majority of their oils are either organically grown or ethically wildcrafted with concern for our environment and ecosystem.
